Julius van de Laar: Change matters

Julius van de Laar is a campaign and strategy consultant with many years of international campaign experience.

In the 2012 U.S. election campaign, Julius van de Laar served full-time as Regional GOTV Director, managing voter mobilization for Barack Obama in the key electoral state of Ohio. He had previously worked as a full-time campaigner for Barack Obama in the U.S. presidential campaign in 2007 and 2008. After his election victory, he brought his experience as an advisor to the 2009, 2013, 2017 federal election campaigns as well as to various European election campaigns and NGO campaigns.

Today, Julius van de Laar advises political organizations, NGOs, and companies in the development of campaigns as well as their implementation. His work focuses on strategic, integrated communication, positioning, message development and storytelling, mobilization and campaign management.

Julius van de Laar regularly comments and analyzes current political events for leading media such as ARD, ZDF, NTV, WELT, Der Spiegel, FAZ or Deutschlandfunk.

Julius van de Laar holds seminars, workshops and lectures on topics such as election campaign strategy, digital campaigning, storytelling and political communication and gives Guest Lectures at the Hertie School of Governance, Harvard University, University of Oxford as well as Quadriga University in Berlin.

The business magazine Capital ranks Julius van de Laar among the "Top 40 under 40" from the political sector.
