Holger Stanislawski: Von der Trainerbank in den REWE Supermarkt

Holger Stanislawski, born in Hamburg in 1969, is a former German soccer player and coach. In 2014 he changed his profession and is now a successful entrepreneur and managing director of the Rewe-Center in Hamburg-Winterhude.

Lecture topics Holger Stanislawski:

- Success and failure in sports: how business can learn from it.
- Team leadership: A team wins. Always.
- Motivation and leadership: How far can monetary motivation go?

His soccer career began in his youth when he played for Bramfelder SV and Hamburger SV. From July 1993, Holger Stanislawski played for FC Pauli in the position of libero. Due to a protracted inflammation in the knee resulting from a previously suffered ligament tear, he had to end his playing career in 2004. However, he continued his sports career by training to become a sports manager. From 2006 to 2011, Stanislawski was a coach at FC St. Pauli, where he helped the club regain promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga, among other achievements. After the Hamburg football club, Holger Stanislawski coached TSG 1899 Hoffenheim as head coach and 1. FC Köln as coach for the 2012/2013 season.

In 2014, Holger Stanislawski decided to interrupt his career as a football coach despite ongoing successes and to embark on a completely new path. Together with ex-HSV professional Alexander Laas, he took over the management of the Rewe-Center. He sees common ground between his work as a soccer coach and that as a manager and entrepreneur primarily in the area of motivation.

In his presentations, Holger Stanislawski talks about his experiences as an athlete, successes and failures, motivation and perseverance, among other things.
